Bat Removal and Exclusion in Kasilof
The Critter Squad Inc. provides bat removal, bat exclusion and guano cleanup in Kasilof, AK for homes, fish camps, cabins and outbuildings.
Kasilof properties tend to be spread out on wooded lots with a lot of detached structures: smokehouses, boat sheds, dry cabins and older farmhouses. Bats often use the quiet outbuilding first and move to the heated house later, so we inspect every structure on the parcel instead of only the one the customer called about.
Because a lot of Kasilof buildings were added onto over the years, the roof planes rarely line up cleanly. Those step-downs where an addition meets the original roof are the openings we find bats using most often here.
River-side properties around the Kasilof River see heavy seasonal use and then sit closed up. If your building is only occupied part of the summer, tell us that up front and we will plan the dusk visit for a night the colony is actually flying.
What We See in Kasilof
- Additions and roof step-downs with open gaps at the joint
- Smokehouses, boat sheds and dry cabins used as first roosts
- Older farmhouses with weathered fascia and lifted siding
- Guano piles found on stored gear and workbenches

How the Work Is Done
- 1Inspection
Roofline, attic, vents, soffits and siding, plus a dusk watch to confirm which openings are live.
- 2Seal up
Every secondary gap and vulnerable detail is closed first, leaving only the active entrances open.
- 3Exclusion
One-way devices go on the active entrances so bats leave and cannot get back in.
- 4Removal
Devices come off once nothing is exiting, and the final entrances are permanently sealed.
- 5Cleanup
Guano removal, sanitizing and insulation replacement where the colony contaminated it.

Full detail on the sequence and the timing rules is in our Kenai Peninsula bat removal guide.

Kasilof Bat Removal Questions
We only find guano in the shed, not the house. Is that still a problem?+
It is worth handling. A colony that starts in an unheated shed frequently moves to the warmer house once the weather turns, and the shed gives us a clean read on how many bats are on the property.
Our Kasilof cabin is only used in July. Can you still inspect it?+
Yes. We do not need you on site. We inspect the exterior and roofline, watch the building at dusk, and send photos with a written scope so you can decide from anywhere.
You found bats in the smokehouse and the main house. Is that two jobs?+
It is one job with two structures on the same quote. Pricing counts the openings and the cleanup on each building, and doing both at once is cheaper than coming back for the second one later.
How do I know it is bats and not birds or squirrels?+
Bat droppings crumble to shiny dust between your fingers and pile straight below the entrance. Bird nesting brings sticks and feathers, and squirrels chew the opening larger. Photograph what you find before you clean it up.
What warranty comes with the sealing work?+
The openings we seal are warrantied in writing. Areas we flagged and you chose not to have sealed are not covered, and we mark those clearly on the quote so there is no argument later.
