What to Tell Us When You Call

The Critter Squad Inc. provides bat inspections, removal and exclusion services across the Kenai Peninsula. The more specific you can be, the more accurate the inspection and the quote. Standing outside at dusk for fifteen minutes and noting where bats come out is the single most useful thing a property owner can do before we arrive.

    • What you hear, where in the building, and what time of day it happens
    • Whether you have seen bats emerging at dusk, and from which side or roof feature
    • Whether there is guano or dark staining on siding, under eaves or below vents
    • Whether a bat has gotten into the living space, and when
    • The building type: house, cabin, rental, lodge, barn, shop or garage
    • Whether the property is occupied year round or seasonally

    What Happens Next

We schedule an inspection, walk the full roofline and exterior, and where a colony is active we watch at dusk to confirm the entry points in use. You get photos, an entry point map, a written scope and a realistic exclusion date based on the season. Details on each part of the work: inspections, exclusion, guano cleanup, roofline sealing.

    FAQ

    Scheduling Questions

There is a bat flying inside my house right now. What do I do?+

Confine it to one room if you can, close interior doors, open an exterior door or window in that room, and leave it alone so it can find its way out. Do not handle a bat with bare hands. If there was any possibility of contact with a person or pet, contact your health provider and call us at (907) 299-9790.

    How soon can you inspect?+

Usually within a few days during the active season, sooner for a bat in living space. Full exclusion is then scheduled for the correct seasonal window.

Do I need to be there for the inspection?+

It helps for the first visit so we can walk the findings with you and get attic access, but we regularly inspect properties for owners who are off site.

What is the fastest way to reach you?+

Call (907) 299-9790. If we do not answer, leave a message with your property location and what you are seeing. We return calls as soon as we are out of the attic.
